Job Summary Working under the direction of the Finance Director, the Social Development Assistant must be able to communicate effectively and listen to clientele and help with any social problems. The Social Development Assistant will provide assistance in the day-to-day administration of the Social Development Program. The Social Development Assistant will be responsible for intake, filing, and He/She will be responsible for the following:

Duties • Work towards fulfilling the goals and objectives of the band’s social services branch. • Assist and implement the social assistance program on the reserve, in cooperation with • District office personnel, and accordance with the program and band regulations. • Be knowledgeable regarding Provincial Services programs, regulations and requirements. • Receive and review applications and assistance to determine entitlement, and ensure that • applicants are treated fairly. • Encourage/assist clientele to participate in programs of self-help and social/economic • development. • Provide information to band members as required, to ensure that they are well informed of • their rights regarding the social development programs. • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications • Grade 12 or equivalent • Combination of education and experience will be considered • Familiarity with AIS Software an asset Skills & Abilities • Proficient in computer applications/software. • Strong organizational and project management skills. • Weekly/Monthly/ Quarterly/Annual Reporting • Proven knowledge of career/job coaching, assessment techniques and case • management process and procedures. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. • Team player. • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability. • Strong morals and ethics, with a commitment to confidentiality/privacy. • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle • Dependable and reliable • Substance free
